Edom (Negative Example)

Category: Pride and betrayal in crisis

Could avoid: Rejoicing over Israel’s downfall.
“Do not gloat over your brother in the day of his misfortune.” (Obadiah 1:12)

Chose (wrongly): Stood aloof, joined enemies, plundered Judah.
“On the day you stood aloof while strangers carried off his wealth… you were like one of them.” (Obadiah 1:11)

Endured (consequence): God’s judgment for pride and cruelty.
“The pride of your heart has deceived you… Though you soar like the eagle… from there I will bring you down.” (Obadiah 1:3–4)

Could avoid: Despair and give up hope under Edom’s betrayal.

Chose: Wait on God for vindication and justice.
