63. 2 John (Bible Summary)

Introduction: John, the elder, greets the chosen lady and her children, whom he loves in the truth, and all those who know the truth. He expresses joy in the truth that abides in them and offers peace from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.

Joy in Faithfulness: John is greatly rejoiced to hear that some of the chosen lady’s children are walking in the truth, living according to the commandment they have received from the Father.

Exhortation to Love One Another (5–6): John urges the lady, and by extension, the church, to love one another. This love is not a new commandment but one they have had from the beginning, which is to walk in truth and love, obeying God’s commandments.
