Category: Failure of perseverance (external enemies & internal discouragement)
Could endure: Continue the rebuilding of the temple as commanded.
“Let us rebuild the house of our God.” (Ezra 5:8)

Chose wrongly (initially): Work stopped under pressure and fear.

Could endure: Remain holy and separate from pagan nations.
