The Pleasure-Seeker

Cross-Refs: 1 Timothy 6:17; James 1:17.

Chose wrongly: Sought meaning only in pleasure.

Could endure: Wait for God’s timing in judgment.
“God will bring every deed into judgment.” (Ecclesiastes 12:14)
Cross-Refs: Romans 14:12; Hebrews 9:27.

Chose wrongly: Claimed God delayed justice, so wickedness prospered.
“When the sentence for a crime is not quickly carried out, people’s hearts are filled with schemes to do wrong.” (Ecclesiastes 8:11)
Cross-Refs: 2 Peter 3:3–4; Malachi 2:17.

Endured (negatively): Hardened in sin, though judgment awaited.

Why (wrong motive): Mistaking delay for impunity.
