Zephaniah the Prophet

Category: Endurance in warning & proclaiming both judgment and hope

Could avoid: Stay quiet under Josiah’s reforms and Babylon’s threat.
“I will sweep away everything from the face of the earth,” declares the LORD. (Zephaniah 1:2)

Chose: Proclaimed judgment on Judah, nations, and promised restoration.
“The great day of the LORD is near—near and coming quickly.” (Zephaniah 1:14)

Endured: Burden of heavy judgment messages.
“That day will be a day of wrath—a day of distress and anguish.” (Zephaniah 1:15)

The Humble Remnant

Could avoid: Join the arrogant, seek false security.

Chose: Seek the LORD in humility and obedience.
