Chapter (4) Applying Knowledge

1. Studying without thinking is a waste. Thinking without study is dangerous.

2. Understanding is more important than memorization.

3. Studying without desire spoils the memory and retains nothing it takes in.

4. A high degree of intellect tends to make a man unsocial.

5. Some people are filled with knowledge but empty of mercy and love.

6. Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.

7. The measure of mind is the ability to change.

8. Your knowledge is far more important than your degree.

9. Knowledge is useless until you act on it. Knowing something is not enough; you have to turn that knowledge into action.

10. To act on what you learn is all that matters.

11. Action is the measure of intelligence.

12. It is not enough to be intelligent; you must also have the right character.

13. It does not matter what resources you have before you. If you cannot use them, you will never succeed.

14. Many people confuse education with wisdom; you can have many degrees and still be an idiot.

15. One of the most significant problems of our time is that many are schooled, but only some are educated.

16. Grades do not measure intelligence, and age does not define maturity.

17. Quality is over quantity.

18. Quality is not an act; it is a habit.
