9. Arrogance

Genesis 16:3-4 3 And Sarai Abram’s wife took Hagar her maid the Egyptian, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife. 4 And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived: and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes.

2 Samuel 22:28 28 And the afflicted people thou wilt save: but thine eyes are upon the haughty, that thou mayest bring them down.

1 Kings 20:10-12 10 And Ben–hadad sent unto him, and said, The gods do so unto me, and more also, if the dust of Samaria shall suffice for handfuls for all the people that follow me. 11 And the king of Israel answered and said, Tell him, Let not him that girdeth on his harness boast himself as he that putteth it off. 12 And it came to pass, when Ben–hadad heard this message, as he was drinking, he and the kings in the pavilions, that he said unto his servants, Set yourselves in array. Psalms 83:2-3 2 For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head. 3 They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.

Psalms 94:2 2 Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: render a reward to the proud.

Psalms 119:21 21 Thou hast rebuked the proud that are cursed, which do err from thy commandments.

Proverbs 8:13 13 The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

Proverbs 11:2-4 2 When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom. 3 The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them. 4 Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.

Proverbs 13:10 10 Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom.

Proverbs 13:3 3 He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.

Proverbs 15:25 25 The LORD will destroy the house of the proud: but he will establish the border of the widow.

Isaiah 3:5 5 And the people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his neighbour: the child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honourable.

Isaiah 3:16-17 16 Moreover the LORD saith, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet: 17 Therefore the Lord will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the LORD will discover their secret parts.
